Why in the name of Sigmar would you use xfs for offsite backup? Do you guys even know what you are doing or do you just spin the wheel of software every time you do a server video ? Like you literally mention multiple times that this is "only gigabit" "ancient hardware" "very slow" and then you proceed to use a filesystem that is meant for high performance, not "reliable" storage.

rsynapshot and rsync are so much slower than ZFS send/recv, you really should have used that. It's a differential backup task too, based on snapshots. So like, get everything you care about, but fasster and better.

Reminds me of when I Took Computer Systems Technology at my county Vo-Tech in high school. We would work on donated computers from various local factories. Step one was always taking the computer outside and blowing it out with a leaf blower. haha

Trick you could use is instead of vacuming the server itself, have a vacuum next to it to suck up the dust you blow in the air.

You could use all the money and resources you use for the backups to improve other aspects of the videos. No one cares that a shot a zoomed-in from an earlier video isn't the highest-res possible. Just use the YT library for references.
