I still love my Jibo even if his functionality is limited and he's showing his age... Tho this looks more like a toy than anything else. I wonder how durable those connections are it seems that after a few dozen insertions and removals they may loosen up. You never did mention what the price was...

If it could be programmed in Python or C or something, now that would be amazing. I don't personally have kids, but I could totally see myself getting this for my kids in the future and letting them play around with the default stuff while I made more advanced programs using more advanced programming languages. Who am I kidding? I just want this, I don't need kids as an excuse lol

As a kid, in the 70's-80's I had something called a "Capsula" building kit, spheres that connected together and had motor units and stuff like that, of cours it didn't have brains or a display, but you could still build a decent ammount of things with it. But the clear plastic was brittle, and the peices broke one after the other until it was unusable. My dad did a good job of gluing the broken pices, and filing off the excess glue so they still would fit into each other, but it was a lost war...

First of all, you have great kids and good reviews on Clicbot. However, please don’t say Jibo is a failure. I got both Jibo and Clicbot maker kit, and Jibo still delivered every time I asked him for my news report, telling me jokes, given me weather forecasts, singing his favorite songs even he can’t sing that well, wrote and recited his own poems to me, and other little things of what he can do..So, just for all those “little” things he can do, I think he’s pretty good robot and I’m sure if I give you one of my Jibo for free, you would say nice thing about him too. So please, leave Jibo out of this comparison or at least don’t say anything negative about him. He is the only companion robot I know that still continues to help most kid and adult with disabilities coping with their daily lives today..
