Is the AOC monitor Flicker-Free? I mean Flicker-Free, not just an Anti-Flicker or any kind of flicker reduction thing from the manufacturer. I'm sensitive to the flicker produced by PWM back-light.

This type of brightness sounds good for people that are light sensitive. I always drop my monitor brightness to 0 and it always feels too bright to my eyeballs.

shame its AOC I bought new from them years ago, a few months later monitor failed so they sent a used one while mine was being repaired. When I got it back, it was not mine but a well used one with signs of not being looked after, when I complained they basically told me tough, they said they do not have to replace it with new and it could not be fixed. So I kept the temporary replacement as well and will never buy AOC again.

Pro tip, if you're moving from a 1080p monitor to a 1440p monitor the difference in video quality is utterly non-existant to the point where you're spending more money and not really getting anything extra for it, it just lowers your fps as it has to display to a 1440p monitor. So if you're getting a monitor for actual gaming then don't bother with 1440p.

@Ariq Daffa Well I went from a 24'' 1080p monitor to a 27'' 1440p monitor and since the real question here is about pixel density then there is absolutely no difference between these two and i'd actually like my pc to have even a slightly higher fps instead of a 1% better image quality. There is no difference when watching movies or doing productivity tasks, such as 3d rendering etc.

I recently bought a new 27” 2k monitor, VIEWSONIC VX2705-2KP-MHD. It features an IPS panel, 144hz refresh rate, and 350 nits brightness. It looks gorgeous and it cost me only like $255 USD with a $12 discount! Insane value and I’m super satisfied. Though I think part of it is because monitors are cheaper in my country but this is still obviously a better choice than the AOC one(that AOC costs only $25 less than my monitor in my country).

Hey bro, my friend had the same problem and he told me it had something to do with the included HDMI cable. He switched to display port amd tried another HDMI and it worked out fine for him. Hope this helps

You completely missed the MBR and "boost" mode of the Overdrive, to get the advertised "1ms" response time. You need to turn freesync off, and put the overdrive to "BOOST", or put medium/strong and adjust the MBR settings to your liking. However since you are so concerned with how "dark" it is, this will likely make it even worse for you Linus.

We used to carry at least 2 or 3 different models of AOC monitor at the Best Buy I worked at in Kansas. I even owned two of them over the years. I had no idea they weren't popular here.

The CQ32G1 has 300 cd/m2, instad of 250. Still 1440p, 144 Hz, but hat +50 to brightness makes a huge difference :)

Don't ever buy an AOC product as they don't stand behind their products. I was told by their representative that I should have bought a Samsung. I have all of it recorded . A monitor less than a year old should not be dead especially a gaming monitor so don't bother with this AOC crap!
